KATHMANDU, MAY 19
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has unanimously endorsed the name of proposed Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma.
A meeting of the committee held at Singha Durbar on Monday approved Sharma's nomination unanimously, according to committee chair Bodh Narayan Shrestha.
During the hearing, Sharma presented his work plan before committee members, followed by discussions on his agenda and complaints filed against him.
The committee had convened earlier in the day to study Sharma's work plan and the complaints lodged against him. A total of 16 complaints had been registered at the committee.
As per the constitutional provision, the President appoints the Chief Justice after parliamentary endorsement of the Constitutional Council's recommendation.
