Voting in the House of Representatives (HoR) election has been continuing enthusiastically in Baitadi and Bajura since polling began at 7:00 am today.
In Baitadi, a total of 22,636 votes had been cast as of the latest update, according to Naresh Dayal, information officer at the District Election Office. The district has 156,372 registered voters in a single HoR constituency. There are 129 polling stations and 215 polling centres, including one temporary centre.
Similarly, voting has been progressing peacefully and enthusiastically in Bajura. The Office of the Chief Returning Officer said that 24,003 votes had been cast so far.
A total of 77 polling stations and 118 polling centres have been set up in the district, Chief Returning Officer Sanjeev Pokharel said.
Chief District Officer Dorendra Niraula, who also heads the District Security Committee, said voting has so far been proceeding peacefully with active participation from voters.
