1 dead, 2 missing in Nuwakot ambulance accident
NUWAKOT: A person died after an ambulance they were travelling on met with an accident in Tadi Rural Municiplaity-4 of Nuwakot district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Bharati (24) of Manahari in the district.
The incident occurred when the ambulance (Ba 16 Cha 897) en route to Kathmandu from Samundratar of the district, fell around 50 metres below the road at Bahrabise, Sundaradevi last night, killing Bharati on the spot, according to the Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhukar Jung Bista, at the District Police Office, Nuwakot.
Locals and Police had reached the accident site for rescue operation immediately after the accident, however, other two person that have been learned to be travelling in the same ambulance are missing from the site, informed police.
Police have yet to ascertain the identity of the vehicle's driver.
The Naya Bazar-based Kantipur Dental General Hospital, in Kathmandu who operates the involved ambulance has been informed and further detail about the ambulance's visit to Nuwakot will be cleared after the representative comes into contact with police, informed police.
