2 killed in Tanahun road mishap

TANAHUN: Suraj Thapa, injured in the tipper-motorbike collision, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara.

The Prithvi Highway is still obstructed and police are trying to resume the traffic.

Pillion rider dies, motorcyclist injured in Tanahun road mishap

TANAHUN: A pillion rider died and a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a road accident in Ghansikuwa-8 of Tanahun district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Kunwar, who appears to be in his early 20s, from Ghansikuwa-8 of the district.

According to DSP Rakesh Singh of District Police Office ( DPO), Tanahun, the accident took place when a tipper (Na 5 Kha 7523) heading towards Damauli from Dumre hit a motorcycle (Ga 10 Pa 7262) coming from the opposite direction at the area .

DSP Singh further said the motorcyclist Suraj Thapa (22) of the same place was also seriously injured in the incident.

Locals have halted traffic along the Prithvi Highway after the incident, informed police.

Initiative was underway to resume the traffic, according to the DPO, Tanahun.

Police have arrested the tipper driver and impounded the vehicle for the further investigation.
