KHOTANG: One person died and other sustained critical injuries when a tractor they were travelling in met with an accident in Khotang district.

The deceased has been identified Nir Bahadur Magar (60) of Aduwabari, Saunechaur and injured as Nara Nath Paudel (42) of Saunechaur-7.

According to Inspector Kasi Nath Regmi of the District Police Office, Khotang, the tragedy occurred when the four-wheeler (Ko 2 Ta 1980) heading towards Dhapla from Chisapani fell some 35 metres down the road.

Injured Paudel is receiving treatment at a local health post.

Police suspect that the incident might have occurred due to narrow and muddy road.

Inspector Regmi informed that the tractor driver fled the scene after the incident.
