LAHAN: A person was killed and another injured after a passenger bus carrying 33 passengers overturned in Golbazaar Municipality-3 of Siraha along the East-West Highway on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as the bus driver Shyam Dhakal (35) and the injured as Suresh Devkota (32) of Nakhu-4 in Lalitpur district.

The incident occurred after the bus (Na 6 Kha 4977) heading for Kankarbhitta from Kathmandu lost control and crashed into a bridge before turning turtle killing Dhakal on the spot today, according to Golbazaar-based Area Police Office (APO).

Meanwhile, Devkota is receiving treatment at the Biratnagar-based Bhumika Hospital.
