CHITWAN: A person died and 19 others were injured in a bus-truck collision in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5 along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section of Chitwan district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Chandra Bahadur Timilsina (44) of Dhiyal in Makawanpur district.

The incident occurred when the bus (Na 6 Kha 1521) en route from Itahari to Kathmandu collided with the truck (Na 5 Kha 7528) en route from Kathmandu to Narayangadh, while the bus was trying to overtake a vehicle in Syauli Bazaar at 6:00 am today, killing the bus driver's assistant on the spot, according to District Police Office, Chitwan.

Among the injured, five are being treated at Chitwan Medical College while remaining others have been undergoing treatment at College of Medical Sciences and Teaching Hospital, Bharatpur.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
