CHITWAN: A person died and two other sustained injuries in a hit-and-run in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-10 of Chitwan district on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Bhawis KC of Yagyapuri, Bharatpur-4 and injured as Sushant Adhikari and Prashant Adhikari, both resident of Abhukhaireni in Tanahun district.

According to police, the incident occurred when an unidentified truck hit the motorcycle (Na 13 Pa 6703), the trio were travelling on at Srijana Chowk, injuring all three.

Critically injured KC was rushed to Bharatpur Hospital where he breathed his last during the course of treatment, informed Chitwan District Police Office (DPO). Meanwhile, Adhikari duo is undergoing treatment at Bharatpur-based College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (Old Medical College) with Sushant being in critical condition, Chitwan DPO added.

Meanwhile, search is on for the truck and its driver that fled the scene, police said.
