Nuwakot:  A person was killed and three others including a four-month-old child were injured after being struck by a bolt of lightning at the Saamari Maibal area of Meghang Rural Municipality-6 in Nuwakot district on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as local Bhibhram Tamang (47) and injured as his nephew Surya (22), nephew's wife Sushma (22) and their child Arun.

Tamang, who was sleeping with other family member, died immediately after being burnt in the lightning strike yesterday night, said Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Tej Lal Yadav of the Saamari Police Post.

All of the injred were initially rushed to the Nuwakot City Hospital but later they sent to Kathmandu for further treatment, informed Inspector Jitendra Kumar Basnet of the Nuwakot District Police Office.
