1 killed, 36 hurt in road mishaps

Nawalparasi, June 10:

One person was killed and 36 injured in three road accidents last night.

Khulan Devi Chaudhari, 40, of Tilakpur was killed when a jeep (Lu 1 Ja 493) that was heading to Butwal from Tilakpur met with the accident at Badera on the Sunwal-Bardaghat section of Mahendra Highway.

Eight persons, including Kanti Chaudhari, Soniya Chaudhari and Deepak Chaudhari, were also injured, the Sinawal police post said.

In another incident, four persons were injured when a taxi (Ba 1 Nga 668) heading to Butwal from Kathmandu met with an accident at Lahari bazaar last night. Injured Zamir Ansari, Ram Narayan Kapar, Mahesh Chaudhari and Bakayatar Paswan are undergoing treatment in Prithvi Chandra Hospital at Parasi, police said.

Meanwhile, a report from Kapilvastu said 14 persons were injured when a bus (Lu 1 Kha 5362) heading west from Butwal collided with another bus (Na 2 Kha 7919) at Jeetpur. Yhe injured are undergoing treatment.
