1 killed, 4 injured in Chitwan collision

CHITWAN: A person died while four others sustained injuries as three vehicles collided with each other in Tikauli of Bharatpur-12 in Chitwan district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Manoj Chaudhary (30) from Ratnanagar Municipality-1 of the district.

He had succumbed to injuries while being taken to Bharatpur for treatment, according to police.

Kewal Mahato (42) from Khairahani-1, Uttar Kumar Bhujel from Devghat-3 of Tanahun district, Nathuram Darai (42) from yet-to-be-identified location and Khem Bahadur Gurung (35) from Jutpani-4 were injured.

Bhujel was driving an ambulance (Ga 2 Cha 1271) which was involved in the accident. The ambulance was heading to Khairahani to drop Mahato home from the Narayani Community Hospital, Bharatpur.

Mahato and Bhujel are undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Bharatpur whereas Darai and Gurung have been admitted to the Chitwan Medical College.

The ambulance and a Bolero jeep (Ba 11 Cha 8072) had collided head-on with a truck (Na 6 Kha 4572) this afternoon, according to the District Police Office.
