At first, the livestock suffered from fever, followed by diarrhoea, dehydration, acute breathing problems and no appetite, which lasted from two to four days before succumbing to the symptoms, the farmer said.
Veterinary doctor Narayan Kusum of the District Livestock Services Office, Lamjung, informed that a team has been dispatched to inspect the situation at the sheds.
According to Kusum, a specimen had been sent to the Regional Disease Research Centre, Pokhara, to test for peste des petits ruminants (PPR), but the result was negative, meanwhing they were not affected by the disease.
Even the postmortem reports of the sheep have not helped to determine the cause behind the deaths, Kusum added.
