106 households of Sindhupalchok relocated to skip landslips
CHAUTARA: As many as 106 households of six VDCs in Sindhupalchok district that were at a high risk of landsides following the April 25 quake have been shifted to a safer place in the district.
According to Bishwa Adhikari, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, Sindhuplachok, in the first round of relocation, locals of Selang, Golche, Tangtang, Syaule, Batase and Jyamire VDCs were shifted to a public place in Selang VDC-1.
In addition, the District Natural Disaster Rescue Committee has provided 22 tents and 22 tarpaulin sheets to the families who were shifted to the safer place for safety concerns.
A 26-member team of the Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force and the Nepal Police were deployed to help build makeshift shelters for them.
Similarly, efforts have been made to shift around 100 households in Tangtang, Baramchi, Hajam and Jalbire VDC, who were at a risk of landslides, to Koiraladanda in Jalbire VDC of the district, it was shared.
