Nepalgunj, November 12

In a latest rape-related case, an 11-year-old girl was gang-raped in Bardiya, Badaiyatal Rural Municipality last evening.

Police have held two Indian teenagers in connection with the incident.

According to Bardiya District Police Office SP Mohan Prasad Mainali, the teenagers had raped the girl of Badaiyatal while she had gone to the nearly jungle to graze cattle. Police, however, haven’t revealed the identity of the boys citing their under-age status, that is, below the age of 18.

“After we got information, we mobilised our personnel and managed to arrest the duo from the border area within an hour,” said Mainali. “We’ve initiated action after the boys pleaded guilty,” added the SP.

The victim, who had gained the Area Police Office Mainapokhar to file an FIR today, sought stern punishment for the rapists. “As I was scared and thought they would kill me, I pleaded with them to do whatever they wanted with me but spare my life,” recounted the victim.

“They left me and fled when they heard footsteps on the nearby road. Then, I reached home and told everything to my mother,” she added.

Police, citing preliminary investigation and the nature of the incident, said the rape might have happened with the malicious intent to kill the victim later. They, however, ruled out that the rape was premeditated.
