14 houses gutted

Pyuthan, June 1:

Thirteen houses and 14 cowsheds were gutted in a fire at Dansindanda of Dhungegadhi-5 yesterday.

The fire destroyed property worth Rs 30 lakh, police said.

The fire broke out at 6 pm, but it could not be controlled on time because of lack of water, a police inspector said. The victims have been putting up in a nearby village as all of their property was destroyed in the fire, the police inspector said.

A team of the district branch of the Nepal Red Cross Society distributed relief materials to the victims of fire today.

Meanwhile, property worth Rs 60,000 was gutted when the house of Mahendra Singh of Bramhapuri village development committee ward number 1 caught fire last night, the District Police Office (Rautahat) said.
