14-year-old girl gang-raped in Rautahat, suspects at large
RAUTAHAT: Authorities have rescued a minor girl who was gang-raped by three youths, from a forest at Gajura Municipality in the district.
The suspects abducted the girl while she was commuting and took her to the forest. They left her unconscious by the shrubs and fled the scene after they realised that armed rangers were patrolling the area, informed officials.
On patrol forest officials, alerted by unusual movements, rushed to the site and found the girl in an unconscious state. The officials also witnessed the suspects sprinting away from the site.
Police personnel, who reached the site after forest officials reported the incident, recovered suspects’ clothing and a motorcycle (Na 54 Pa 6468).
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Nabin Karki, the girl was taken to a government health facility based at Chandrapur for treatment and medical tests and law enforcement officials have initiated an investigation into the matter.
With this, Rautahat has witnessed two rapes in just three days.
