KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 12

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 777,163 on Sunday with 838 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 739,457 with 1,423 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,949 with 13 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 11,018 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,878 were PCR tests while 3,140 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,022,061 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 73 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 911.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 95.1 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 26,757.

Currently, there are 321 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 187 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 56 and 66 cases respectively.

Globally, over 225 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.6 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 201 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
