17 cabs operating without metre system seized in Pokhara
POKHARA: As many as 17 taxis operating without metre system in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City were sized on charge of swindling customers, on Thursday, police said.
Kaski District Police Office spokesperson Khagad Bahadur Khatri said, "The cabbies had declined to offer services in metre based pricing system, and had rather compelled their customers to deal in fixed pricing system to fleece them."
"Complaints were filed against taxis, with metre installed, but unwilling to offer services in metre based pricing system to swindle customers through fixed rate system," Khatri added.
Meanwhile, the seized cabs have been sent to the Transport Management Office, Gandaki for further investigation and action as per the existing Vehicle and Transport Management Act, 1992.
