Recovery rate climbs to 94.6%

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 646,367 on Monday with 1,745 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 611,429 with 2,211 discharges accounted today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll shifted to 9,248 with 23 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 11,527 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,499 were PCR tests while 4,028 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,376,041 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 877 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,622.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.6 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 25,690 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.

In the same time frame, 378 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 124 and 60 cases respectively.

So far, a total of 3,371,761 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,611,807 have received the first dose while only 759,954 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 317 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Sunday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 644,622 with 1,042 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 184 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 3.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 168 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
