The 1st National Bamboo Conference, held in Khotang, has announced plans to establish a bamboo museum and position the district as the bamboo capital of Nepal.

Organized by Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality, this three-day event issued a 35-point 'Khotang Declaration,' which includes establishing a bamboo research center in Diktel, observing Falgun 15 as National Bamboo Awareness Day, and hosting the conference every three years.

Held under the theme 'Where there is bamboo, there is life; where there is life, there is bamboo,' the conference highlighted bamboo's role in income generation, environmental protection, and sustainable development. A total of 23 working papers were presented by 44 experts on topics like bamboo plantation, product marketing, and entrepreneurship.

The event was supported by various government and non-governmental organizations, showcasing a collective effort to promote bamboo-related initiatives.
