Jeep driver, assistant injured in collision with tipper in Kavre

KATHMANDU: Two persons sustained injuries after the jeep they were travelling on collided with a tipper lorry in Panchkhal Municipality-6 of Kavrepalanchok district on Tuesday evening, police said.

The injured have been identified as Nirmal Thami (30) and Mahesh Thami (19), both the residents of Kalinchok Rural Municiality-6 in Dolakha district.

According to police, the incident occurred when the Nissan jeep (Ba 2 Ka 5839) collided head-on with the lorry (Ba 3 Kha 335), injuring the jeep driver and his assistant, at Tinpiple, at 6:15 pm yesterday.

The injured duo have been undergoing treatment, informed police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and search is on for the tipper driver who fled the scene after the incident, said police.
