2 killed, 2 critically injured in Bajhang jeep accident

DHANGADHI: Two persons died on the spot and two others sustained critical injuries after the jeep they were travelling in met with an accident in Chabispathibhera Rural Municipality of Bajhang district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Sonkosha Jagri (52) and Rudraa Jagri (48), and injured as Jaman Dhami and Devraj Jagri, all residents of Chabispathibhera Rural Municipality-5 in the district.

The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the jeep (Se 1 Ja 615) and skidded off the road at Netamati while en route from Byansi Thalara to Bhande Bazaar at around 7:30 am today, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rishiram Kandel at District Police Offfice, Bajhang.

The injured have been rushed to Simkhet-based District Hospital, informed police.

It has been learnt that there were around eight to 10 passengers travelling in the jeep. The remaining passengers are safe, according to police.

Meanwhile, the police has impounded the vehicle and detained its driver for further investigation.
