NAWALPARASI: Separate accidents claimed two lives along the East-West Highway in Dumkibas of Nawalparasi district on Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the Nawalparasi District Police Office, a motorbike (Na 34 Pa 2083) heading towards the east along the highway was hit by a truck (Na 2 Kha 9758) coming to the same direction.

Pillion rider Deepak Shrestha (27) of Madhyabindu Municipality-3 died on the spot, said DSP Parshuram Tiwari.

Police said the motorcyclist Bishnu Sharma of Madhyabindu Municipality-3 was injured in the accident.

Similarly, a person was reported to have died after the jeep (Ba 12 Cha 6703) heading to the east slammed into a static truck (Na 3 Kha 4319) in Jyamire of Dhumkibas along the highway on Wednesday night.

Uttam Chapagain (23) of Bharatpur in Chitwan, who was injured in the accident, succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Chormara Health Post in the district, said police.

Police said that Bijaya Basnet (19) of Manglapur, Chitwan was injured in the same accident.
