BARA: At least two persons died and 47 others were injured when a bus they were aboard skidded off the road and slammed onto a bridge in Bara district on Sunday.

The District Police Office identified the deceased as Rabina Bajiyau and Sandesh Basnet of Chisapani VDC in Sarlahi district.

It has been learned that the bus was carrying Janata Higher Secondary School's students for a picnic in Hetaunda of Makwanpur district.

The accident occurred while returning home.

Meanwhile, the injured have been receiving treatment at local hospitals, informed police.

The details of the accident are awaited.
