KATHMANDU: Two persons died after the truck they were travelling on met with an accident in Bardaghat Municipality-4 of Nawalparasi district (Bardaghat Susta West) on Tuesday night, police said.

The deceased have been identified as truck driver Shiva Narayan Bijaraji (40) and driver's assistant Lali Pabhaiya (28), both residents of Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-7 of Saptari district.

According to police, the incident occurred when the truck (Na 5 Kha 2514) lost its control and plunged around 50 metres below the road in Daunne at 7:00 pm yesterday, critically injuring them.

The injured duo were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
