KATHMANDU: Two persons died after a motorcycle they were riding on rammed into a truck in Lalbandi Municipality-5 of Sarlahi district along the East-West Highway on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as the motorcyclist Milan Karki (26) and the pillion rider Dipendra Adhikari (38), both the residents of Lahan Municipality in Siraha district.

The incident occurred when the motorcycle (Na 35 Pa 2208) collided with the truck (Na 2 Kha 8623), fatally injuring Karki and Adhikari at around 11 pm yesterday.

Both the injured were rushed to the Chure Hill Hospital Pvt Ltd, Hetaunda, where they breathed their last during the course of treatment yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Lalbandi Area Police Office has impounded both the vehicles and arrested the truck driver for further investigation.
