20 candidates obtained less than 100 votes in Kavre

As many as 20 candidates who had filed their candidacy for the mayoral post and seven candidates vying for the deputy mayoral positions garnered less than 100 votes in the district, according to the district election officer.

Four persons who had filed their candidacy for deputy mayoral positions failed to even save their deposit amount. Of the contestants, four each in Panauti Municipality and Mandandeupur, three each in Namo Buddha Municipality  and Banepa Municipality and five in Panchkhal Municipality garnered even less than 100 votes.

Of the candidates obtaining less than hundred votes are from Naya Shakti Party-Nepal, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic and independent candidate, among others, obtained below 100 votes in the elections.Five candidates vying for  chairpersons and three candidates for deputy chairs’ positions in three rural municipalities and three candidates for deputy chairpersons got less than 100 votes.

Udaya Narayan Dahal, an independent contestant for the mayoral post in Mandan Deupur Municipality,Kavre, didn’t obtain even a  single vote. It has also come to surface that he didn’t  even cast vote for his candidacy. District Election Office said that they were preparing details of the election result. Hence, they were yet to make public how many parties would get their deposit back.
