HETAUDA, AUGUST 8
As many as 20 persons were injured in a vehicle pile-up along the East-West Highway in Hetauda on Monday morning.
According to police, as many as five vehicles were involved in the incident.
The truck (Na 5 Kha 6254), en route from Birgunj to Hetauda, collided with a school bus (Na 1 Ka 5120) traveling in the same direction at Ratemate this morning. The same truck then collided with a tanker (Lu 1 Kha 4347) coming from the opposite direction and hit a parked trailer truck (Province 0203001 Kha 2506) before coming to a stop. The hit tanker overturned and crushed the car (Ba 7 Cha 9604), en route to Ratemate from Pashupatinagar.
There were no reports of death in the accident, informed Tek Bahadur Karki, Spokesperson at teh Distrct Police Office, Makawanpur.
All of the injured are being treated at Hetauda and Churehill hospitals, according to Karki. They had all suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, he added.
