20 injured in Makawanpur bus accident

HETAUDA: As many as 20 people were injured when a passenger bus overturned this afternoon at Lebat along the Hetauda-Narayangadh road section in Makawanpur district.

Of the injured, 11 have been admitted to Chure Hill Hospital while five others are being treated at Hetauda Hospital, according to District Police Office, Makawanpur. Four have already returned home.

The bus (Na 5 Kha 3701) en route to Birgunj from Narayangadh overturned on the roadside after the driver apparently lost control over it.

Driver Kush Thapa Magar (35) of Chandranigahapur in Rautahat, who was unhurt in the accident, is under the police custody for further investigations.

Meanwhile, traffic along the Hetauda-Bhaise road section of Tribhuvan Highway was resumed after the rubble, left by a dry landslide at Bagjhora, was removed. The traffic resumed since 10:00 am, Chief District Officer, Chakra Bahadur Budha said.
