BAJURA, MAY 25
A Bajura girl, who was burned in a house fire, has been suffering for want of treatment due to lack of financial assistance.
Lokshari Kunwar, 23, of Budhiganga Municipality-10 in Bajura district, was rushed to the Achham-based Bayalpata Hospital after being injured in the fire on May 17.
The hospital has referred her to a hospital in Kathmandu for more extensive treatment. According to the hospital, Kunwar had 22 percent of her body burned.
Despite the fact that the hospital recommended she be treated in Kathmandu owing to a lack of facilities, Kunwar has stayed at the Bayalpata hospital due to a financial constraints.
"We were unable to gather money for her transportation and treatment in Kathmandu, even though we had hurried her to the Bayalpata hospital by raising funds," her husband Ekendra Kunwar lamented.
"Just the ambulance charge to Kathmandu comes to over Rs 60,000."
"The hospital has already referred her to Kathamndu, but she is still languishing in lack of financial means," said Chhatra Saud, a health worker.
"She has to go to a facility in Kathmandu with a better burn ward, so that she gets the appropriate treatment" he concluded.
