24 hurt in Doti bus plunge
DHANGADHI: As many as 24 people were injured, including six in critical condition, when the bus they were travelling on fell below the road in Jorayal Rural Municipality-2 of Doti district on Thursday morning.
All passengers including the driver of the bus were injured in the accident.
According to police, the incident occurred when the bus (Na 5 Kha 9114) en route from Darchula to Mahendranagar plunged some 100 metres below the road in Athasimod at around 3:00 am today morning.
The passengers were rescued from the bus that was found stuck on a tree below the road. They were sent to Attariya-based Padma Hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lal Bahadur Dhami, Acting Chief of Doti District Police Office.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
