CHITWAN: At least 26 people were hurt after a bus carrying school students and teachers overturned in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-6 in Chitwan district today.

The bus (Na 6 Kha 9366) carrying the students and teachers at Madi-based Someshwor Secondary School, skidded off the road and overturned injuring 26 persons, at Pullar today, according to police.

Meanwhile, all the injured are receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur, said the police.

The students and teachers on their educational trip were returning from Janakpur when the accident occurred, said the police.

There were altogether 34 persons aboard the ill-fated bus.
