POKHARA: Police arrested three persons, including former Vice-Chair of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Kaski Chapter, Rajendra Adhikari during a demonstration by All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary) associated with Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal, on Monday.

According to Kaski District Police Office, ANNISU(R) Prithvi Narayan Campus coordinator Prakash Bastola and another student leader Ujjawal Pun were also arrested while they were carrying out a torch rally, as a sign of protest, demanding immediate release of arrested CPN cadres.

Police arrested Adhikari, who is also a member of the FNJ Central Council, while he was taking pictures of the demonstration. He was released later this morning.

According to Kaski Chief District Officer, Chakra Bahadur Budha, the arrested persons were suspected of being associated with Biplav-led CPN and they will only be made public after investigation.
