3-day Indian film festival begins
Birgunj, January 20:
A three-day Indian film festival organised by Indian Consulate commenced in Birgunj today.
The old Indian movies made in sixties and seventies, namely, Mughal-E-Azam, Chaudavin Ka Chand, Hip Hip Hurray, Pyasa, Bobby and Garam Hawa will be screened in the local Tri Murti Cinema Hall during the festival.
Inaugurating the festival, Indian Consulate General C Guru Raj Rao said, “The festival will provide an opportunity to study old Hindi movies for young generation while will make the older generation remember their times.”
He added that old Indian movies have been able to capture the audiences as they represent the family values and bonds.
Films like Mughal-E-Azam and Chaudavin ka Chand were screened on the first day of the film festival. Huge crowd showed up to watch movies. Cinema Hall owner Basanta Agrawal said the participation of audience in the festival has encouraged the cinema entrepreneurs. The Indian film festival has already been held in Dharan and Janakpur and will also be organised in Nepalgunj, Pokhara and the capital.
