3 Indian nationals held with illegal goods in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: Police on Tuesday arrested three Indian nationals from various places of Rautahat district with possession of illegal goods worth Rs 300,000 brought from India by evading tax.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team under the command of Head Constable Dhirendra Jha nabbed them from Mahadev-4 of Gaur Municipality this morning, DSP Sudhir Raj Shahi of the District Police Office, Rautahat informed.

The suspects have been identified as Hariom Mahato, Pramod Mahato and Birendra Mahato of Sinduriya, Bairganiya.

Shahi informed that the trio along with the goods will be handed over to the customs office for investigation.

Meanwhile, the Area Police Office, Chadranigahapur confiscated 7,800 packets of gutkha worth Rs 100,000 from a bus (Na 5 Kha 2399) belonging to the Janaki Travels yesterday night.

Police said that the bus was heading towards Kathmandu from Malangawa of Sarlahi.
