KAWASOTI, SEPTEMBER 14

Three persons died while 24 others sustained injuries in a bus-truck collision at Nawalpur along the East-West Highway this morning.

According to police, the incident occurred when the passenger bus (Su Pra 2-001), en route to Mahendranagar from Kakadbhitta, collided with the truck (Na 6 Kha 7126) and skidded some 10 metres below the road in Gaindakot-10 of Nawalpur, killing three on the spot while injuring others, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dilip Kumar Giri.

Three of the injured are in critical condition, added police.

The deceased have been reported to be two women and a man. Further identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

There were 26 passengers including the driver in the bus at the time of the incident.

Similarly, the truck driver was also injured in the accident.

The injured have been taken to New Medical College, Bharatpur for treatment, according to DSP Giri.
