ACHHAM: Three more persons succumbed to diarrhoea here in the district today. With this, the diarrhoeal toll in the district has climbed to 31.

The dead have been identified as Radhadevi Kathayat, 35, of Darna VDC, Jaman Rana, 2, of Kuntibandali VDC-7 and Anish Shahi of Bannatoli VDC-7.

According to District Public Health Office, Kathayat lost her life as she was not taken to nearby health centre in the village. Rana, however, succumbed to the disease while undergoing treatment at the health post, according to chief of Kuntibandali sub-health post, Ramlochan Mandal. Shahi of Bannatoli VDC died of the disease at his home.

A DPHO official informed that teams of health workers, along with necessary medicines, were already sent to Darna and Kuntibandali areas following the deaths.
