30 students awarded with scholarship in Jhapa

KAKARBHITTA: National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIM) has awarded 30 students of Jhapa with scholarship on Tuesday.

The scholarship was awarded to the students belonging to indigenous groups to help them pursue further studies, said former chairperson of the foundation Prem Raj Ghising.

The scholarship of Rs 8,000 was provided to each student amid an event organised in Birtamod, Jhapa.

According to Ghising, the organisation has so far provided 500 students with such scholarship across the country.

Dilip Maskey, an employee of the organisation said that over 15 thousand students have applied for the scholarship in the month of November last year, among whom 500 students were awarded.

NEFIN has been providing students with scholarship since 2011.
