302 new cases take nationwide Covid-19 tally to 268,948
KATHMANDU: Nepal on Friday reported 302 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 268,948.
Of the total cases, 133 are females while 169 are males.
In the last 24 hours, 112 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.
Likewise, 480 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 263,348 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 97.9 per cent.
Nepal’s active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 3,614.
Meanwhile, seven more fatalities from the disease have taken the total death-toll to 1,986.
According to the health ministry, 3,545 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,035,301 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 158 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
Globally, over 98 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.1 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 70 million people have recovered from the disease and around 25 million cases are still active.
On Thursday, Nepal’s coronavirus case count reached 268,646 with 336 newly confirmed cases.
