Kathmandu, September 8:

The Ministry of Law Justice and Constituent Assembly Affairs is preparing to amend 305 Acts to make them compatible with the republican principle of the country.

Stating that some of those Acts still had mentioned the dethroned king as the head of the state, the ministry is preparing to amend the Acts.

According to Kamalsali Ghimire, under secretary at the ministry, the government would introduce a single bill to amend all the contradictory Acts.

“The president will replace the former provision on head of the state. Other necessary changes will also be made,” under secretary Ghimire added.
