31 persons go missing in Rolpa in current fiscal year

LIWANG, ROLPA: As many as 31 persons went missing in Rolpa district in the fiscal year 2074/75 alone.

The Women and Children Service Centre under the District Police Office, Rolpa stated that those missing are women and children.

Although, one boy and three women who were reported missing have been found, the whereabouts of 27 others including four boys are not known, informed Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Dilkumari Budhamagar, at the Centre.

According to ASI Budhamagar, the missing children are aged between 10 to 16 years and the missing women are aged between 20 to 35 years.

Similarly, 87 persons including 56 women, 22 boys, and nine girls had gone missing in the district in the fiscal year 2073/74. Among them four women, 20 boys and six girls have been found, according to the Centre.

Likewise, 80 women and children had gone missing in the district in the fiscal year 2072/73, as per the Centre's record.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gyandendra Prasad Phunyal, the causes behind the people going missing are said to be family conflicts, eloping, or in search of work without informing family.

The statistics in police record are in the high, as the families also fail to inform the police after coming into contact with the missing persons, said DSP Phunyal.
