4 killed, 7 injured in Nawalparasi jeep accident

NAWALPARASI: Four persons, including an Indian man, were killed and seven others sustained injuries as the jeep they were traveling on met with an accident at Daunne of Nawalparasi district on Tuesday afternoon.

The jeep (Na 1 Ja 1317) was heading to the district headquarters Parasi from Kawasoti when it met with the fatal accident along the East-West Highway at around 3:30 pm, according to police. The ill-fated vehicle with 11 people including its driver had overturned on the road after it witnessed brake failure, police said.

Police identified the deceased as jeep driver Sudhakhar Pandey (28) of Sukrauli, and three passengers -- Chintu Sahani (26) of India, Thanam Singh Chaudhary (25) and her sister Chetmaya (18) of Banjariya-8.

Among them, two men and a womand died on the spot while one of the Chaudhary sisters succumbed to injuries at the Daunne Polyclinic, police informed.

The injured are receiving treatment at health facilities in Bardaghat. They are said to be out of danger.

The bodies were sent to the District Hospital in Parasi for postmortem.
