4 killed in separate incidents

POKHARA: An unidentified group opened fire on a marriage ceremony at the residence of Ram Prit Thakur in Majhauliya, Sarlahi on Monday night killing two persons and injuring at least five others.

The deceased have been identified as Jitendra Bhandari 12, a local resident of Majhauliya 7, and Dilip Shah 22, a local resident of Mirchaiya 2.

Shah and Bhandari breathed their last on the way to the hospital. Though the police have not been able to capture the culprits they said that an investigation is underway to arrest and convict the culprits.

The locals disrupted the road of Mirchurya along East- West Highway protesting against the attack.

Meanwhile Bhumikadevi 38 was murdered by her husband Deepak Raj Sen 42 in Lamahi on Monday evening.

It is reported that she was severely beaten by her husband over a minor family dispute.

Sen has been arrested by the police on the charge of killing his wife.

In another incident in Biratnagar a girl was killed over a water dispute. She was hit on the head with washing bat by Harka Bahadur BK. The deceased is Mithu Maya, 13, a local resident of Khotang 2.

However, the culprit managed to escape and the police has launched a manhunt to bring him to book.
