4 of same family missing in Rasuwa landslide

KATHMANDU: Four members of a single family including a minor were reported missing after a rain triggered landslide buried their home in Uttargaya Rural Municipality-4 of Rasuwa district today.

Those missing are Dharma Bahadur Thapa Magar( 72), his daughter-in- law Muna Thapa Magar (27), grandson Rabin Thapa Magar (3), and helper Bhakta Bahadur Nagarkoti (70).

Similarly, four others injured were rescued from the rubble at 9:00 in the morning, following an incessant rainfall on Sunday evening.

Multiple landslides along the road from Khalde area in Laharepauwa to Pairebesi have disrupted rescue efforts with responders unable to reach the incident site, Chief District Officer of Rasuwa Chomendra Neupane was quoted in the Rastriya Samachar Samiti as saying.

The Nepal Police and Nepal Army squad in Rasuwa are facing difficulty in clearing the debris due to continuing mudslide and falling stones from top the hill.

Meanwhile, among the injured, Rudra Thapa Magar and Devaki Thapa Magar are said to be in critical condition.

Those injured are undergoing treatment at a local health facility in Nuwakot.
