RAUTAHAT: A four-year-old child drowned in a stream in Santapur Dostiya VDC of Rautahat on Saturday.

Lalata Prasad Kalwar's son Rohit Prasad from Santapur Dostiya-1 drowned in the Aduwakhola stream bordering Rautahat and Bara districts this afternoon.

Rautahat District Police Office said he had gone to the stream to take bath.

After the boy fell into the stream, Lalata had called for help. Though locals rushed there for rescue, the child could not be saved, Police Inspector Nawaraj Khadka said.
