40 patients in Banke

Forty persons have been infected with dengue in the different hospitals of Banke till date.

Out of 40 patients, only four are from Banke. The others are from Bardiya, Kailali, Rukum, Dang and Surkhet districts.

Seventeen persons were found to be infected with dengue at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj. Of them, six are being treated at the hospital at the moment while others have returned home after treatment, said the hospital’s Medical Superintendent Rupananda Adhikari.

Likewise, 13 dengue patients were found at Nepalgunj Medical College in Kohalpur and five each were found at Nepalgunj Medical College and Siddhartha Hospital.

According to Banke District Health Office, dengue patients from outside Banke are visiting hospitals and health facilities in Nepalgunj. MS Adhikari of Bheri Hospital said they had no problem in treating patients. Most of the patients had visited dengue-affected places such as Butwal, Narayangadh and Pokhara.

A separate ward has been managed for treatment of dengue patients at Bheri Hospital. A campaign has been launched to destroy mosquito larvae at Janaki Rural Municipality and Duduwa Rural Municipality in Banke.
