400 vehicles escorted to secure destinations

BIRATNAGAR: Some 400 vehicles including passenger buses and transport carriers stranded due to the ongoing bandh in the Tarai were escorted to safer destinations on Thursday.

A total of 210 vehicles including 82 oil tanker and goods carrier trucks in the Biratnagar customs premises and other vehicles in and around the highway were escorted to a safe place, according to District Police Office, Morang.

Likewise, vehicles that arrived the border at Nimuwa under security were escorted to their respective destinations.

Another, 60 vehicles were stationed safely at the Biratnagar customs premises, police said.
