HETAUNDA: An Indian truck driver has been arrested in possession of 120 kilogram of hashish from Hetaunda on Wednesday, police said.

According to police, Sudhir Ram of Motihari district in Bihar State was apprehended during a routine security check at Manahari Police Checkpost along the East-West Highway also known as Mahendra Highway in Makwanpur district.

Makwanpur District Police Office spokesperson and DSP Bam Dev Gautam said that the consignment was seized hidden behind the driver's seat.

The truck (07 GA 4423) was heading to Hetaunda from Chitwan before being intercepted by the police for a routine security check.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the vehicle for further investigation.
