430 new Covid-19 cases registered on Tuesday; nationwide tally hits 265,698
KATHMANDU: Nepal on Tuesday reported 430 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 265,698.
Of the total cases,177 are females while 253 are males.
In the last 24 hours, 259 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.
Likewise, 390 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 259,358 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 97.6 per cent.
Nepal’s active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 4,408.
Meanwhile, five more fatalities from the disease have taken the total death-toll to 1,932.
According to the health ministry, 5,300 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 1,992,855 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 237 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
Globally, 1.95 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19 while more than 90.9 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus.
On Monday, Nepal’s coronavirus case count reached 265,268 with 488 newly confirmed cases.
