HETAUNDA: As many as 44 people were injured in a bus accident in Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-5 in Makawanpur district this afternoon.

The accident took place when a bus (Na 4 Kha 6190) heading towards Hetaunda from Makranchuli of Gadhi VDC in the district fell around 10 feet off the road after the driver lost control of the vehicle due to over speed.

Three critically injured have been sent to Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur, for further treatment, said police.

Police have arrested the bus driver.
